Come to Church

Why should we be a part of the church? Jesus Christ loved the church and gave Himself up for it. There are two expressions of the church: The Universal Church (all believers in Jesus Christ worldwide) and the local church (a group of professing believers in Jesus Christ who meet in some particular location on a regular basis).

In the Bible, most often, whenever we see the word "church," it is in reference to the local assembly or congregation, which gathers together at a particular place. In fact, when Paul writes his letters, such as Romans or Ephesians, he is really writing to local churches in Rome or Ephesus, etc. During the time of the early church, it was expected that each Christian was a part of a local body of believers. This should be no different today.

If you are a Christian, you belong in a local body of believers, different from just your family of close friends. Reasons we belong in a local body include:

  1. We avail ourselves of the structure that God in His wisdom has created for our spiritual growth (apostles, prophets, pastors, teachers, evangelists, elders, deacons, etc)

  2. We find our rightful place in the body to be of service to others

  3. Together we serve the Lord

  4. It provides a place for growth, encouragement and accountability.

Church membership indicates a public identification with a specific group of believers in Jesus Christ. It says that “I am a part of a spiritual family and therefore I have all the related responsibilities and privileges.” Being a member of a church versus just attending church now and again can be compared to casual dating and marriage – at some stage you need to make a commitment one way or   another.

Finally, church membership assists church leaders in caring for the souls assigned to their charge. Unless a church has some kind of membership, there is no real sense of having to give account to the Lord for being an effective, loving and caring leader.

Why GO Church?

At GO Church, "Everyone Counts." You are a part of a body that embraces our differences. We are a multi-ethnic and multi-generational non denominational church and so whether you are White, Black, Asian, Hispanic, from America, or any other country around the world; whether you are rich, poor or in-between, we want to get to know you better. If you are from a large family or a small one or you are single, GO Church has a place for you. That's why we sing songs in different languages, genres, hymns, contemporary, etc. That's why we take a break in each service to get to know you better.

At GO Church, your gifts will make room for you. That is, you are not here to fulfill someone else's dream. Instead, together we seek to fulfill God's vision for our region and the world - and you are an important part of that. We look forward to serving the Lord with you.
